How it works

Board count is the number of rows times the deck length, divided by board length. Joists sit at the chosen spacing, and each board gets two screws per joist.

How to measure

Enter the direction the boards run as “length”. Board width and length are on the product label.

Tips

Leave a 3/16 in gap for drainage and airflow.
Use stainless or coated exterior screws.
Raised decks need a framing plan that meets local code.
